Five Steps to Healthier Living

Exercise alone is not enough if you are trying to lose weight. It’s a good start but remember that what you are putting into your body is also key. It’s hard changing our diet habits and eliminating certain foods. Sometimes, all it takes is a few baby steps.

1. Change your snacking habits- Replace your chips or cookies with fruit and nuts. Fruit is an essential part of pretty much any diet. Nuts like almonds are cashews are rich in protein. Eliminating unnecessary carbs and fats from your diet is the first step to eating healthier.

2. Schedule your meals – If you schedule your meal and snack time, you are less likely to overeat. Knowing exactly when your next meal is going to be will help you tone down on how much you eat between meals.

3. Replace sugar sodas with water – Your body is made up of mostly water, so keeping yourself hydrated is crucial. By consistently drinking water, you keep your system flushed, and o=you have a low chance for toxins in your system.

4. Don’t skip meals – Undereating is just as detrimental to your health as overeating. Your body needs a certain amount of nutrients to function correctly. When you deprive your body of these nutrients, your body goes into fat storying mode, making losing weight virtually impossible.

5. Try using a meal plan service – It’s hard to keep from eating so much fast food when it is so convenient. Try having a meal plan service deliver fully cooked meals to your door. You can buy them by the week or by the month. It doesn’t get much more convenient than that.

You may not know where to start. Just remember; wherever you start, it’s a step in the right direction.
