What to Do on Leg Day

A well-rounded workout routine is the to key to staying fit. Leg day is perhaps the most dreaded exercise day. It’s also one of the most important ones. Here are some exercises to get you started.

1. Squats work your quads, hamstrings, calves, and your core. They are the foundation for any solid leg day.

2. The leg press works your quads, your calves, your glutes, hamstrings, and hip adductors. You get a whole lower body workout with this exercise.

3. Knee highs will strengthen your inner thighs and outer hip areas. You can do them across a distance or standing in place.

4. Typically, any kind of cardio you do will also strengthen your leg muscles. Using a treadmill, an elliptical, or a bicycle can elevate your heart rate and workout your leg muscles at the same time.

The reason that leg day should be the foundation to your workout is because your legs are your foundation. If you don ‘t take care of yourself from the bottom up, then you won’t have a leg to stand on.
